Marculter House

As one of Scotland’s most historic hotels, Maryculter House wanted a brand refresh, without losing the existing logo completely. I kept the shield icon, but updated the font to give a hint of the medieval, and created a more muted colour palette, to reflect the ancient feel. Throughout the marketing material, I have tried to keep a hint of the curved shield shape to help differentiate the hotel in style from its competitors. I also designed a range of drinks packaging. The ‘Knights Gin’ and ‘Templars Tonic’ are a nod to the hotel’s association with the Knights Templar, whilst the ‘Ghillies Dram’ reflects the outstanding location of the banks of the River Dee.
